What’s happening?
Severe weather across the East of Coast of NSW is impacting the commercial power supply, resulting in disruptions on the nbn® network. These conditions are likely to delay network and service restoration activities. The recovery efforts will be coordinated by nbn with guidance from the commercial power providers and Emergency Services. Technicians will be dispatched to sites only when it is safe to do so.

How are you impacted?
The outage has so far affected around 1,012 nbn services in the impacted geographical regions, across the following technologies Fibre to the Node (FTTN), and Fixed Wireless, mostly in Regional NSW.

Following locations are reported impacted:
Bar Point, Bawley Point, Berrara, Berringer Lake, Braemar, Burrill Lake, Bushells Ridge, Cedar Brush Creek, Cooranbong, Dolphin Point, Ellalong, Jilliby, Kiar, Kioloa, Kulnura, Mandalong, Manyana, Martinsville, Medowie, Milsons Passage, Mooney Mooney, Moruya Heads, North Nowra, Old Erowal Bay, Sanctuary Point, Worrowing Heights, Wyong Creek, and Yarramalong

The majority of nbn services impacted are due to commercial power outages affecting nbn® network infrastructure.

The Triple Zero Emergency Call Service (000) is operated by a third-party provider and nbn cannot comment on its status.

Any equipment providing broadband internet, including a VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) service connected via the nbn® network will not work during a power outage.

All nbn in-home equipment requires power at the customer premises to work. Where you do not have backup power if mains power fails, they will not be able to access the nbn® network, even if the network is available.

Telephony services that operate over the nbn® access network that do not have a mobile backup capability, will be unable to place telephone calls, including to 000.

Calls to 000 from a mobile phone may still be possible, but the status of mobile networks in the area is unknown to nbn.
