Welcome Jim's Customers

Hi, we're Pennytel

As you may know, Jim's pay-as-you-go mobile will be retiring from providing mobile phone services as of 3 December 2018. The good news is that we've teamed up with them to seamlessly migrate your Jim's service to the Pennytel network.

What this means for you is that you can continue to use your service on the same great network, with no interruption and no need to change your SIM card. The other great news is that your plan will be even better value than before. We'll take care of everything, so you do not need to do anything.

We're giving you your first month plan fee for free, so you can try us with no commitment. However, if for any reason you do not want to switch to Pennytel, you'll need to take action by the 3 December, read on to find out more.

What if I don't want to move to Pennytel?

You have 2 options if you don't want your service to be migrated on 3 December 2018.

  1. You can cancel your Jim's service by calling Jims on 1300 132 915, no cancellation fees will apply.
  2. You can transfer your number to a new provider, you'll need to ensure they have transferred your service by 3 December.

Are there any difference between Jim's Mobile Phones and Pennytel?

Online portal & Mobile app. Once your service is migrated to Pennytel, you will have access to the Pennytel portal and app, which gives you more control over your service, allowing you to check your usage on-the-go and access extra features. We'll provide more information on these features in your welcome email once you are migrated, please be sure to check your inbox on 3 December 2018.

Data top-ups. Your Jim's plan gave you automatic 1GB top-ups costing $10 when you exhausted your monthly data allowance. Pennytel does not offer automatic top-ups and instead you can manually apply an extra 1GB of data for $10 if you choose to - giving you more control.

Roaming. With your Jim's service, when travelling overseas, international roaming was activated automatically and charged pay-as-you-go. To avoid bill-shock, Pennytel does not offer an automatic roaming service when you travel overseas. Instead you must purchase a travel-pack which comes with an allocated data allowance and included calls and SMS if you wish to use your service overseas.
